Employed Personal Assistant

A PA who is employed by the person for whom they provide services will have the security of a contract of employment, sick pay, holiday pay and pension. The hours that the PA works will be set by the employer as will the rate of pay. The job security for a PA who is employed is much higher than for a self-employed PA.

There is no minimum number of hours that is required to be worked per week or per month for a contract of employment to be put in place.

The majority of PA’s working in the Support with Confidence scheme choose to be self-employed but the application form for Support with Confidence is the same.
