Hello my name is Helen. I have worked in care for over 10 years and worked at many levels from carer to manager. I have done lots of training over the years and love being able to get to know the people I am looking after.
Whether you need help with personal care, shopping cleaning or going out for coffee I can help you. I know how important it is to get along with the person looking after you and I’m sure we can find a subject to talk about.
I love my job and supporting others, I am very reliable and punctual and always arrive with a smile on my face.
I specialise in support for people with dementia and also enjoy befriending the housebound or people with a disability.
I can support people with social activities including trips out, cinema, theatre and entertaining in their own homes.
I aim to provide a cheerful and engaging atmosphere for my clients and am flexible and reliable.
Our service is designed with the client to suit their specific needs and requirements. The service is completely bespoke ranging from a cuppa and a chat at home, baking, light domestic duties and medical appointments to shopping trips, cinema visits, pub lunches and any other activity of choice.
Whilst we strive to provide an outstanding service to our clients, their emotional wellbeing is of paramount importance to us. Our PA’s aren’t there solely to cater for their domestic requirements, we are there to build trusting relationships, friendships and to create a bond with them. Our interest is in the person, their story, their history, it’s all about them.
Unique Companions are great listeners, we hear what’s being said, we remember the things that matter to others. Whilst not trained councillors, we offer support and direction if needed. Our focus is to bring positivity and energy to those using our service and to enjoy our time together.
We aren’t here to share our woes with our clients, we are here to hopefully bring joy and friendship to their lives. Everybody needs somebody and who better to spend time with someone who helps to brighten their day.
